Dr. Chino obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from University of Washington (Seattle, WA) in 2012. Prior to that, he had gained several years of business experiences in the private sector and completed postgraduate studies both in Japan and abroad. Before joining Rikkyo University in April 2022, he had taught at International University of Japan and Nagasaki University. His research in finance conducts empirical analysis using corporate-level financial and stock price data. Specifically, he focuses on exploring how characteristics of corporate employees and labor market regulations impact firm value and corporate financial policies in Japan. His papers have been published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and Financial Management. Dr. Chino teaches courses in corporate finance and investment.
