博士課程では、応用言語学を専門とし、言語教育におけるイデオロギー及びそれによって生じる非母語話者や非標準的な言語に対する排除に関する研究を行った。現在、「言語」という概念を存在論的な視点から捉え、哲学家であるジョルジョ・アガンベンの理論を「言語」という概念に応用し、社会言語学における、新たな言語論を提示することを目指している。
